Triple Crown BBQ Sauce started the way great BBQ often does- with time, patience, and a recipe worth a Blue Ribbon! 

Founder Richard Schaaf entered his homemade BBQ sauce into the Minnesota State Fair in 1994. It won a Blue Ribbon. Then it won again. And again. Three Blue Ribbons later, “Triple Crown” stuck, and so did its reputation.

What began as small batches shared with friends grew into a sauce people kept asking for. By 2009, Triple Crown was on store shelves and in restaurant kitchens, still made with the same flavor-first mindset.

In 2012, longtime fan Andy Wright took the reins and ushered in the next chapter: upgrading every ingredient, earning USDA Organic certification, and proving that great BBQ flavor doesn’t need shortcuts. No fillers. No ingredients you can’t pronounce. Just real, organic flavors and recipes that hold up.

Today, Triple Crown is a family-owned brand based in Minneapolis, trusted by home cooks, chefs, and food partners alike. Our sauces have earned national attention, landed on global shelves, and found a home in regenerative, ready-to-serve meals, all without losing sight of what matters most.
